We have a new year upon us! The 2023 countdown is shortening, and it is not uncommon to pop some bubbly and garnish it with a kiss, all to celebrate another year behind us and a new fresh year ahead. This past year, my love for Lillet Blanc has blossomed and is now a must-have pairing with Champagne. And this cocktail is the best of both worlds. A refreshing bubbly cocktail with notes of citrus, lightly sweetened, but the undertone of dry brut rounds out the experience to make you gasp for more.
What is Lillet? It’s a French aromatized wine, similar to vermouth, made with grapes from Bordeaux, flavored with herbs, spices, and citrus, and fortified with citrus liqueur. It is perfect over ice by itself or with club soda. Where can I find it? I have had more luck at places like Total Wine and now and then at a grocery store. The best bet is a specialty larger warehouse wine and liquor retailer.
And to you, all, may you have an incredible celebration to close out your 2022. There may have been some good, some bad, and some ugly moments within this last year, but most of all, there was growth for us all! Which is always the best kind of year. May your 2023 be filled with joy, happiness, and laughter! Happy New Year friends!
